2016 New York City Run 10 FEED 10 Recap

NYC's 2016 Run 10 FEED 10 at Hudson River Park on September 18th
Hudson River Park, NYC This year's "run down West Side Hwy" for hunger awareness was met with safety concerns due to bombs found at another charity race this weekend in Seaside Heights NJ and one which detonated in one of my favorite NYC neighborhoods, Chelsea. So security was high at Pier 84, Hudson River Park with a heavy police presence which made us all feel safer. In spite of terrorist threats however, the race now in its 5th year, had an amazing turn out.

I am going to let the photos/video tell the story but I want to thank my sponsors and team members again for their excellent training and race day support. Special thanks to Macy's for the custom screened commemorative race day shirts:

Race Day Supplements - Take a look at what's in MY FEED BAG! Some of my favorites for race day fuel and recovery which were included in my LTD Edition FEED Pouch:

Race Day Goodies

Organic Protein Shake by Purely Inspired - I drank an Organic Protein shake on my way to the race as it was the only thing I could eat before my run. The best organic protein shakes are made with pea and rice powders which mix easily. These are really great for after your run as a recovery drink. 20 grams of protein but only 130 calories, add it to almond or cashew milk for a serious protein bomb!

Omega Fish & Flax - by Rainbow Light is a Training Table staple as it offers inflammation support for joints, bones and muscles. I really do not use muscle rubs or creams anymore because even after a hard run, I am pain free. Promotes heart and brain health too. Taking one capsule a day equals eating 2-3 servings of Omega 3 rich fish a week. No fishy taste either. Made with Omega 3 Fish Oil, Flax Oil and Vitamin D3 it is truly Everyone's Omega Fish & Flax.

NEW Lean Protein Bar by Hydroxycut in Chocolate Fudge has added Green Coffee to the mix. Really delicious after today's race. If it had peanuts it would taste almost like a Snickers Bar! This one gives you 18 grams of protein in a little bar for only 160 calories with 60 coming from fat. REALLY good.
